Today was our MOPS Christmas gathering. I always get so nervous before going to MOPS. I haven't "clicked" with anyone at our table or anyone else for that matter and just feel out of place. It's such a character defect of mine - the out of place thing. It was fun though and very enjoyable. It always is, when I get over that feeling. I even met another lady who has 3 kids the same age as my 3 and that was fun. She's overwhelmed too : -) The kids really enjoy themselves. They have a special program just for them, MOPPETS, and have fun playing with others their own age.
Daddy Piper had a rain day so he was home when we got home. It is nice to have him home - wish we were rich so it could be a regular occurrence without worrying about the financial aspect of it. I got to nap today from 1:30 until 3:15. When I woke up at 3:15 by myself, not awoken by anyone, I woke up thinking how delicious the nap felt :-)
Tonight while dinner was cooking, the kids & I delivered plates of goodies to our neighbors. We have really gotten more friendly with them which is nice. The holidays are wonderful time to connect and remind others that we appreciate them.
Off to wash off the kids and switch over laundry (I HATE laundry!!)

Uplifting
MOPS today was very uplifting. I began the time there feeling so out of place and ended it feeling so great about the fellowship and being a mommy. We had a wonderful speaker who had some things I want to remember, like being a calm, respectful parent. It was a great 2 1/2 hours today!

Thankful Thursday
After a great night of sleep, I awoke refreshed about life. Sleep really helps my outlook. Baby J was awake a ton yesterday and he is smiling more so that helps relieve some of that worry. He also slept wonderfully last night - from 9:30 until 2 and then from 2 till 4:30.
We are headed to MOPS today. I am a table leader and our table is responsible for breakfast this time. I am trying to get more involved in things like this. It is a wonderful group of women who seem supportive of each other and this motherhood thing : -)
Okay I better go shower while all 3 are sleeping, although sitting here drinking my chocolate mint truffle flavored coffee and reading blogs is way more fun than showering!!
p.s. The thing I am most thankful for today is my opportunity to stay home with my kids. I say it often but it's true. I feel so blessed to be the one to be with my kids day in and day out - even when it gets hard!

MOPS day again....
We had a fun time at MOPS today - all 3 of us. I put S back in the 3 & 4 year old room with his big sis and all went well for them. They had a blast with a bit more structured playtime - including playing outside on the playpark, highlight of the morning for them :-) They are learning more about God. This has brought up some interesting questions from the resident genius around here. I enjoyed conversing with other moms and even volunteered to be our table leader!
Tomorrow is another dr appt. Hopefully I haven't dilated any. We should talk more about the specifics of this upcoming c-section (3 1/2 weeks away). I wonder if he'll just take it early????

MOPS
The kids and I went to our first MOPS meeting today. I was really looking forward to joining a group like this - for myself and the children. It didn't go exactly as I had hoped but I am optimistic that the next meeting and those thereafter will be better. To start off the morning - S didn't want to stay in the 2 year old room. He was fine when I dropped him off and then within a few minutes was crying hysterically. Knowing I wouldn't be able to have a good time during the MOPS meeting thing, I made the decision to take him over to the 3 & 4 year old room where his sister was and he did fine there. No more tears! L had a great time playing with all the fun toys and other little ones her age. She really liked the playhouse!!
The MOPS thing itself was kinda uncomfortable to start with since I didn't know anybody but I quickly got over than when I realized that no one else at the table knew anyone else either. It seems like a fun group of women. Today was mainly administrative/business type stuff about the upcoming year. I hope it gets better from here. The kids had fun in their room and are looking forward to going back so we'll see how the next meeting goes in 2 weeks.
