S Funny Story

We got home from the hospital around noon today. It was wonderful to be home. I was helping get lunch ready and asking the kids what they wanted to drink and S replied "Milk" and then stopped and looked at me with this funny little face - "Milk from a cow - not milk from your booms, I'm not a baby!!" It was absolutely funny to hear him say that!!!!

U/S, Baby Chain and other Misc. Stuff

We had another u/s today. Baby was measuring small last week, according to a physical measurement. Baby measured just fine on the u/s today. Of course, she did mention that the femur bone was on the small side of average but went on to ask what did the doc expect when I am obviously small :- ) The head and other measurements all came back fine. Baby weighs about 4.5 pounds - right on schedule. The kids enjoy the u/s appointments. They mostly love hearing the heartbeat, which was 139 today. Great to see the little munchkin!!!

We made a baby chain a few weeks back (about 5 weeks ago) to countdown the birth of the baby. It helps the kids be able to see how many weeks are left until the c-section. Also eliminates the million questions I was getting on how much longer till baby gets here.

L needed a haircut today since her hair has been super tangly lately and since we are getting our maternity pics done on Saturday. We are growing S's hair out a bit and it looks super cute - like a surfer dude since he has this awesome tan going. He was upset he didn't get a haircut and proceeded to tell me he needed one and I said no and he responded with "But my hair looks scraggly" Now I ask - where did my 2 1/2 year old learn the word scraggly?????

Nice Day

Our morning started early with returning the rented tractor Daddy Piper used all weekend (and when I say all weekend, I mean ALL weekend!!) then we had to go get the dogs some food since they were completely out. We got the stuff the neighbors use (think this will keep Jay-Jay home??). Then the we had some friends over to play, the K family. It was fun. A bit chaotic but fun. The kids have fun together. Can't wait to throw #5 into the mix :- ) I bought some Cars Cars pasta over the weekend and made homemade mac-n-cheese with it for lunch. I have never made homemade mac-n-cheese before and it was surprisingly good! Now I need to figure out what to made for dinner. While I type this both kids are devouring their food while watching their allotted TV time. They didn't watch it this morning due to the busyness but made sure they fit into their lunch time :-)

L made the funniest yet saddest comment this morning. She was playing with their train set and they were dropping someone at the airport and I said "Oh that sounds like fun" and she replied with "It's not fun Mom, when you have to drop your daddy off at the airport - it's sad". Okay - guess Daddy Piper being gone a few weeks ago was really traumatic for her.

Clean Undies & Call me on my Cell

Things kids say:

S on 8/6/08: I was getting undies on S after waking up from nap. He looks down and says "Mom - are these clean undies or dirty undies?" UH - I think they are clean buddy.....

L on 8/7/08: Getting out of the van to go to swim lessons, she hold up this rock that she pretends is her cell phone "If you need me, you can call me on my cell." Okay - you are 4, I am not calling you on your cell!

Sometime the things that come out of their mouths make me laugh so loud and hard, true belly laughs!

Little Tummy

First let me explain the rule at our house. You MUST finish your milk before getting down from the dinner table. You do not have to clean your plate but you have to finish your milk. S had 2 plates FULL of food and his milk was only half finished, so his daddy explained to get down like L, he had to finish his milk. He drank a bit of milk and turned to his daddy and said "I little tummy". So I guess his little tummy was so full of food, there just wasn't room for the milk. I couldn't control my laughing nor could Daddy Piper so S had one more drink and got down. Kids say the darnedest things!!
