J slept wonderful last night. L & S did not. Is it impossible for all 3 of our children to sleep all night, at the same time??? L climbed in bed with us at some point. She didn't stay long though because the air freshener light, the fan light and the alarm clock were scaring her. She eventually got tired of being scared in our bed and let me put her back in her bed. Shortly after, J woke up for the day.
This morning we spent some time going on a new website for some educational tools for L's homeschooling education. I was both surprised and pleased to see how well she is doing at adding and subtracting. Even more so was how S did with the math tools. He is picking up more than I had realized. He is not as scholastic as L but I hadn't realized how smart he truly is for 3. He ditched the schoolwork shortly after to go outside with Daddy Piper - his favorite activity! All this time off for Daddy Piper has hit hard financially but not with the family. His presence around the house is wonderful for the kids. They enjoy having him around. All things considered though - hopefully work picks up soon. If it doesn't get better, we may be heading out of town for the summer.
Our plans for the morning were altered due to J's napping. His schedule is so wonky right now. He will not nap some mornings but take a long afternoon nap. Today he decided for a long morning nap and a long afternoon nap. We were supposed to meet some friends at the park for a morning of fun but he had other plans. Daddy Piper had work stuff to attend to so he couldn't listen out for J, so we stayed home. He woke up after 11 and we took a family walk/bike ride about noon. I had already packed the kids' lunches for the park so we set up the picnic table and they enjoyed their lunch outside. J thought this was totally awesome!!
This afternoon L had a playdate with a little girl from her Daisy troop. This was an awesome experience for her. She just doesn't have the opportunity to play with other little girls very often. She got all dolled up in her brown sweater dress and new brown shoes and off we went. After making sure she was okay (and of course she was - she is the most easy going in new environments) but I stayed for a bit then got to go grocery/coupon shopping ALL ALONE!!!! Spent $37, saved $47 so it was a pretty good shopping trip.
Tonight Daddy Piper made a huge pan of Rice Krispie treats. It was the first time J had tasted these. He thought they were yummy. I shaped a couple into baseballs for L & S. They thought that soooo cool!!
Now I gotta go and read my 12 pages. I am behind a day or two but hope to get caught up this weekend. I have exercised though and lost 4 pounds since the 1st of Jan. I only have 6 more to go!!
